Assistant Principal

Southwest Elementary has been a huge part of my educational career since 2018.  I have had the honor of serving students and staff as the Instructional Coach and am now proud to serve as the Assistant Principal! I have a bachelors degree in Elementary Education, master's degree in School Administration, and a doctorate in Developmental Psychology. I am also a National Board Certified Teacher. I have 22 years of experience in public education that includes teaching grades Kindergarten through fourth grade, assistant principal in Duplin County for four years, and serving in district level leadership roles.

I have five children: 2 in the Air Force, 2 in college, and 1 in high school. I also have one very adorable grandson!  I love learning and learning about how people learn. I enjoy bonfires, reading, traveling, binge-watching TV drama, and serving others.
